The #Astrology of #Aspects: #Moon in Aries Conjuct #Chiron—Where Does It Hurt?

Chiron Bandaged(Astrology Explored)

Wide orbs do work. A family member called me yesterday on the verge of tears. She’s recovering from surgery and making progress, but she still faces months of physical therapy. She didn’t need me to tell her how well she was doing. She needed someone to hear how hard it was.

Looking at the stars, I understood why that conversation happened. The Moon was moving through Aries toward Chiron, what I call “the planet of something wrong.” The Moon had also met Saturn earlier that morning, bringing its own weight to the day.

On September 28, the Moon meets Chiron at the very end of Aries. The conjunction is exact at about 9:58 a.m. Eastern time. Less than an hour later, the Moon enters Taurus. Cafe Astrology .com

Aries is the part of us that says, “I am.” A hurt here can sound like, “I should be able to handle this myself.” For someone facing a long recovery, even positive progress can feel painfully slow. For someone else, a small disappointment may reopen the memory of someone telling them they were too angry, too needy, or too much trouble.

The Moon brings those feelings to the surface. You might be surprised by tears, irritated by an innocent question, or tired of assuring everyone that you’re fine. If someone you love seems unusually raw, give them room to tell you what hurts. Resist the urge to turn their feelings into a problem you can solve before they’ve finished speaking.

And if you’re the one having a tough time, you can say so. “I’m getting better, and this is still hard” is a complete thought.

Fortunately, Moon transits are quick. Once the Moon enters Taurus, a little comfort may be easier to accept. Sit down. Put your feet up. Let somebody bring you a cup of tea. Or enjoy that pint of chocolate ice cream without guilt, since the Moon has moved on from Saturn, the planet that keeps a stern account of our actions.

Where is Aries in your chart? That’s where the ouchies may hurt most. If Aries falls in your first house, the tender spot may be your body, your appearance, or the frustration of needing help when you’d rather move under your own power. Recovery can be progress and still feel unfairly slow.

In the second house, it may be money or self-worth. In the third, words you can’t seem to say—or words you wish you hadn’t heard. In the fourth, home and family. In the fifth, the freedom to enjoy yourself. In the sixth, the daily work of caring for your health.

The seventh house asks what hurts in a close relationship; the eighth, what’s difficult to trust or share. In the ninth, a belief may be shaken. In the tenth, it may be your work or reputation; in the eleventh, your place among friends. In the twelfth, it may be a hurt you’ve kept so private that even you have trouble naming it.

You don’t have to solve it today. Start by telling the truth about where it hurts.

And pass the chocolate ice cream.
