The Astrology of Venus in Scorpio

(Astrology Explored) Venus swings again into the heady sign of Scorpio on September 11. Yes, 9/11. There are no accidents. Venus in this placement sheds the party girl persona of Venus in Libra and gets dark, serious and seriously intense. A relationship starting during this time will test your limits of endurance, plunge the depths of how much you love and take you on a thrill ride that will either scare you or scar you. Oh, yes. It is that dramatic.

The only way to get through this time with your hide intact is to be brutally honest with yourself when you stare into the abyss. If you lie, well . . . you’ve been warned.

To give you more of a background of what Venus in Scorpio means I’m linking you back to my original series of posts on this theme. Featured is the original Mistress of the Dark herself, Persephone, and how her quest illuminates our own in searching the dark and the light.

First, however, a post about her handmaiden, advisor and wing man, Hecate.

Astrologer’s Mailbox: Golden Girl Seeks Career Advice

(Astrology Explored)

Question: I closed my small business 2 years ago and wonder if I’m to find work again or what ?

Birthdate: 9-9-1948
Birth Time: 6:49pm cst
Birth Place: Great Lakes, Illinois

Dear Golden Girl,

I’ll do my best to condense a very complicated situation into a few paragraphs.

When you shed your business two years ago you felt like a weight was lifted off your shoulders. And when your moon progressed into Aries you were perfectly happy to live off the proceeds and do what you wanted. However, you weren’t exactly careful about conserving your resources and when they became a little thin, you took out a loan to continue the lifestyle to which you became accustomed. Now the piper wants payment. Continue reading

The Astrology of Aspects: The Stuff of Which Dreams Are Made

(Astrology Explored) Approximately 6,300 people will be born between 11:00 PM July 31 and 6:00 AM August 1, 2013 with a special configuration in their chart, a five pointed star. Astrologers tend to get excited about things like this because of: a.) the relative rarity of the event and b.) they are composed of multiple yods, called the “finger of God.”

Yods are special. Composed of two inconjuncts, meeting at an apex and separated by the planets at the base by a sextile, it fixes the stress energy of the seesaw yod into a cohesive configuration of power. Three planets are involved, and have either two planets in feminine zodiac sign at the base and a planet in a male zodiac sign at the apex or vice-versa. In a sense it is the traditional Yin-Yang symbolism signifying the balance of male-female energies.

In the five pointed star two yods intersect, (as you see in the chart) connected by either a trine or square. This day’s configuration is joined by a trine. Continue reading

Personality Astrology: William and Kate’s First Born Prince

(Astrology Explored via The Shoreline Times) The English, always a sporting people, bet heavily that the first child of Prince William and his bride would be a girl; placing odds at 4-7 while betting odds for a boy were 5-4. Maybe this was because the Queen lobbied for and got a change in the rules of succession, making the first born the heir the throne regardless of gender. This change fueled speculation that the royal family, despite their protests, knew the sex of the child. But all the bookmaking, speculation and rule changing can’t fly in the face of a good astrological prediction. Two years ago when William and Kate were married, I predicted their first child would be a boy. The Prince of Cambridge was born July 22, 2013 at 4:24 GMT, London, England as announced by Buckingham Palace. (read more–>)
