#Astrology and #Politics: The Third #PresidentialDebate

Trump and Clinton

Trump and Clinton

(Astrology Explored) Tonight, October 19, 2016 Hillary Rodham Clinton and Donald Trump go at it one more time on the debate floor making their case to the American public.

The announced topics are immigration, entitlements and debt, the Supreme Court, the economy, foreign policy and the candidates’ fitness to serve. The format is at once loose and rigid. Each candidate will stand at a podium, much like the first one, and each candidate will have two minutes to speak on each topic. Then the moderator, Chris Wallace, will question them for an additional eleven minutes before they go on to the next topic.

The venue is an interesting one, University of Nevada in Las Vegas, and you wonder why that place? I have no information on the workings of the debate committee, but the astrology is fairly clear. Using chart of the debate itself, (announced 9:00 PM EDT and constructed for 6:00 PM PDT) and the United States (Sibly), I created from Davison relationship chart an astro*carto*graphy chart of the event. (Astrology Explored) The New York Times reports:

As America Sleeps, Donald Trump Seethes on Twitter

The tweets started around 3:20 a.m. on Friday. Inside Trump Tower, a restless figure stirred in the predawn darkness, nursing his grievances and grabbing a device that often lands him in hot water.

On his Android phone, Donald J. Trump began to tap out bursts of digital fury: He mocked Alicia Machado, a former Miss Universe and a popular Latin American actress, as a “con,” the “worst” and “disgusting.”

In a final flourish, before the sun came up, the Republican presidential nominee claimed — without offering any evidence — that she had appeared in a “sex tape.”

#Astrology and Anxiety: Relax–It’s Only A #GrandCross

Astrology and Anxiety (Astrology Explored) You’ve noticed it too, right? The past couple days people are acting stressed and weird and you wonder if somehow you slipped into an alternate universe, right?

Yeah.

No.

Things aren’t going to blow up in your life (unless your chart says so) and no the axe of doom is not going to fall on you. What’s going on here, folks is a grand cross. What is a grand cross? For those that don’t know, it is a configuration in the heavens where four planetary bodies are in challenge and opposition aspect to each other. It’s like astrological weather. When it rains, you can’t help but to get hit with raindrops.

Significantly, this cross is in mutable signs, which is like having a roomful cats in a roomful of rocking chairs trying to avoid the other cats and the rocking chairs. Continue reading

Good #Astrology Counters Bad Astronomy Report

(Astrology Explored)

Image stars moving through the sky

Stars move through the night sky

The internet site RT Question More made a spectacular report on January 18, 2016 that five planets would align during the month of January and remain that way through February. They called event called “rare” and a “quirk” in the solar system. They based their report off an Earth Sky report of the same phenomenon. They say:

Stargazers will be able to catch a rare space show this month as five planets are due to align – although they’ll have to wake up early to see it.

According to EarthSky, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter will string across the sky from 20 January for around a month.

It’s the first time in more than a decade that the stellar positioning will be visible with the naked eye from Earth.

Researcher at Swinburne University in Melbourne, Dr Alan Duffy told Australian Geographic that the phenomenon is “essentially a quirk” of the universe as the five planets have different yearly cycles.

They even show a picture they grabbed off of Twitter: Continue reading

Monthly Forecast

AriesAries—You think actions speak louder than words. However, this month loved ones want to talk about their feelings—a lot. This is enough for you to bolt to the gym or the local bar to deflect any messy emotional issues. You may have to tough this one out, Ram. There is an element of destiny about these conversations. How you handle them may well determine your life course. Continue reading

The Astrology of Celebrities: You Will Be Missed Alan Rickman

Screen shot 2016-01-15 at 8.52.15 AM(Astrology Explored) The public at large can’t catch a break as another iconic and well loved actor, Alan Rickman, passed on at age 69. The reported cause of death was cancer.

I was going to write about his chart but another blogger Twilight did such a fantastic job I’m just put in a link here to the article she wrote several years back.

Below is his natal chart, progressions and transits for sunrise the day of his birth. Like just about all of the UK, we don’t have a birth time for Rickman since that country does not deem it important to record that information. Continue reading

Lottery Astrology : 1.5 billion Powerball dropped prize

23678980223_9db8cf0849_zAn unprecedented 1.5 billion lottery, dropped its prize last night on January 13, 2015.

I knew it would drop, because the astrology aspects were there for it. But I did not buy a ticket. Why? Because, sadly, the astrology told me that Powerball would not grace my state that night with its winnings.

How did I know that? We’ll get to that later.

ABC Reports:

California lotto officials tweeted almost immediately after that a winning ticket was sold in the state. Later, California Lottery spokesperson Russ Lopez said there were two more winning tickets sold, one in Tennessee and one in Florida.

And this is exactly what the astro*cart0*graphy chart of the event displayed.  Continue reading

Astrology and Skeptics: When An Opinion Is Not A Fact

2921288464_fec22107eb_z (Astrology Explored) It started innocently enough with a person asking an astrologer to read his palm. I declined to do this, but a skeptic weighed in with this response:

My advice is that you do not attach any significance whatsoever to anybody who claim to be able to tell the future by reading palms, the stars, etc. Palmistry and astrology is pseudoscientific nonsense and it has been thoroughly debunked scientifically.

To which I replied:

Please site the scientific papers that support your claims.

And this is the response I received:

Comment: “”The scientific community rejects astrology as having no explanatory power for describing the universe, and consider it a pseudoscience. Scientific testing of astrology has been conducted, and no evidence has been found to support any of the premises or purported effects outlined in astrological traditions. There is no proposed mechanism of action by which the positions and motions of stars and planets could affect people and events on Earth that does not contradict well understood, basic aspects of biology and physics. Those who continue to have faith in astrology have been characterized as doing so “…in spite of the fact that there is no verified scientific basis for their beliefs, and indeed that there is strong evidence to the contrary.”

Kindly see citations at the bottom:

en-wikipedia-org/wiki/Astrology

So of course I had to respond.

Dear Frans du Plessis,

1.) “”The scientific community rejects astrology as having no explanatory power for describing the universe, and consider it a pseudoscience.

It is not the entire scientific community that rejects astrology, but a specific group that promotes the rejection of anything they consider supernatural. This group us the Humanists who promote atheism. Anything other than a rejection of God or any “supernatural” force is unacceptable to the Humanists. I wrote about here:

Astrology and the Skeptics: Debunkers Tool of a Religious Agenda?

And here:

Atheists, Humanists and Astrology: What You Should Know

2.) Scientific testing of astrology has been conducted, and no evidence has been found to support any of the premises or purported effects outlined in astrological traditions

Again, this assertion that is patently untrue. I wrote about that here:

Astrology and the Skeptics: An Open Letter to Dr. Rebekah Higgitt

3.) There is no proposed mechanism of action by which the positions and motions of stars and planets could affect people and events on Earth that does not contradict well understood, basic aspects of biology and physics.

Then you are behind in your understanding of quantum physics. You can read my article here:

Astrology and Science: Scientific Determinism’s Dangerous Ground

4.) Those who continue to have faith in astrology have been characterized as doing so “…in spite of the fact that there is no verified scientific basis for their beliefs, and indeed that there is strong evidence to the contrary.”

I refer you again to point 2.

5.) Kindly see citations at the bottom:

en-wikipedia-org/wiki/Astrology”

Lest you think that Wikipedia Editor has presented a true account of astrology, you can read my recounting of the edit war against the people who are best qualified to present astrology—astrologers.

Wikipedia’s War Against Astrology: Jimmy Wales–Are You Listening?

Again, I invite you to provide direct scientific proof that astrology is false, from qualified, unbiased scientists. I’m sincerely interested in that. I’ve been unable to find same, but perhaps you have access to sources that I do not. In the meantime, I submit that you’ve only provided an opinion, which is your right. But opinion is not scientific evidence. Otherwise, we’d still believe the earth is flat.

Sincerely,

Beth Turnage
