Weekly Astrology Forecast: Things that go boom!

Weekly Forecast(Astrology Explored) Astrology for the week of March 24 to March 31

Uranus the planet of the unexpected finally slipped in the sign of the Aries. Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of war and kinetic action. What do you think happens when you mix Uranus and Mars?

Boom!

And that is exactly what happened.

On Saturday, March 12, a nuclear reactor sitting on the east coast of disaster struck Japan erupted in explosion and fire releasing toxic radiation into the atmosphere. Two others shortly followed. The fuel rods in three reactors “partially” melted, though I doubt we’ve heard the full story on that.

And of course, now that Uranus is officially in challenge aspect to the United States collection of planets in Cancer in our natal chart, we’ve joined in on a new war against Libya.

Rarely has the ingress of planet into a new sign yielded such immediate and dramatic results.

Weekly Astrology Forecast: Week of April 16 to April 23

zodiac6Aries—The surge of energy you felt with the recent new moon carries you forward in considering new plans and ideas. With Mercury appearing to be going backward in its orbit you may be forced to retrace your steps and rethink your previous position. Why do you think that its? Well, dear Aries, as usual you have skipped ahead a few pages in the Book of Life and now you have to go back to read what you missed.

Taurus—You have some wonderful plans that no one is going for. This is not the time to start new projects anyway, so it is best to use this time to go over your plans and add the dash of practicality for which Taurus is noted. In the mean time, watch your movement in motion and take things slower rather than faster.

Gemini—Someone hands you a whole lot of work that surprisingly you should accept. Handling this challenge with grace (and without complaint) sets the stage for future opportunities. Make no mistake; higher ups are watching you to see how you react.

Cancer—Your relationships get a little bumpy. OK, a lot bumpy. Somehow you are one that is expected to change. Reach out and envision what you would like to happen instead of holding back and expecting the worse to happen. You might be surprised at the results.

Leo— The planet of communication appears to be going backward in its orbit. It is also making difficult aspects to your Sun. Forgot your snappy answers and your “aw shucks” explanations. No one is buying it right now.

Virgo—Those of you born at the beginning of your Sun sign are enjoying a surge of popularity and happy times with friends. Take care not to push your views on them, because you are feeling especially persuasive. The other have is experiencing a redux of last year’s sturm and drang of talking on other’s responsibilities. If you haven’t sorted out yet that you should let certain things go, then you are getting what you deserve.

Libra— There are all sorts of difficulties in trying to “seal the deal”. The problem is not so much you as other people can’t get their stuff together. Good thing too, because that “really good deal” isn’t so good, after all. Don’t be persuaded otherwise.

Scorpio— People are talking out of both sides of their mouths. Lucky for you, your super sensitive BS detector senses something is up. Be circumspect on the favors you hand out to other people.

Sagittarius—Past actions have a way of coming to bit you in the rear. I can go on and tell you that this a karmic lesson about how to handle responsibility but you wouldn’t listen anyway. Mind you, burying your head in good times isn’t going to get your anyplace, so maybe you should put your nose to grind stone anyway.

Capricorn— Mercury retrograde is cramping your deal making style. People are pushing you to move ahead when you want to think things over. What you should say; “I’ll pass.”

Aquarius—Everyone is talking at you and no one seems to be listening to your point of view. It is like trying to talk in a room full of toddlers. It’s not your style to babysit the children, but this week this is exactly what you are doing. Just don’t let them know that, because they think they are being perfectly reasonable and we wouldn’t want to set off any tantrums, do we?

Pisces—You are wending you way through a difficult process involving groups and organizations. Don’t be surprised if it you that is expected to jump through hoops when it is other people who should. Patience.

Weekly Astrology Forecast: Saturn in Libra-The New Relationship of Equals

yinyangAstrology for the Week of March 19 through March 25

When you have two heavy hitting planets squaring off one another, you know that things are due for a major shake-up. Pluto the planet of transformation is in challenge aspect to the planet of structure, Saturn, so we are threatened with having the rug pulled from out under our feet.

This Saturn is in the relationship and partnership oriented sign of Libra. The last time Saturn was in Libra was the early 80’s, a time social upheaval as more and more women entered the workplace and we struggled as a society with the consequences of that shift. For those of us that remember, it was a time when a woman’s place was seriously questioned, when many of us opted for career first, marriage second, and many people wondered if we were all going to Hell in a hand basket because the women were acting so crazy. What we were seeking was what Saturn in Libra seeks, partnerships based on equality rather than a division of labor and we saw our work as a way of evening the score.

Fast-forward to the first part of this millennium and women’s careers are just as important as the male side of the human family. In fact, women are making significant gains in certain industries while men with still significant higher salaries than women are taking the brunt of the recent economic collapse. More men are out of work than women and out for longer stretches of time. This tipping of the scales fleshes out a relatively new cultural dynamic, that of the woman as primary wage earner. As we struggle with a flattened dollar and a shrinking economy men as forced to reexamine and redefine their roles within relationships. Unfortunately, the initial reports of this phenomenon are not good. Men just aren’t adjusting. The hardy few that segue into a more family oriented role are just that, a cultural minority that are often treated as outsiders by their peers and by women as well. As for the others, family tensions erode tenuous marital relationships. It is no secret that a bad economy spikes increases in substance abuse and family violence, so much so that the Senator from Utah called for “putting men to work” as a way of easing domestic violence.

Pluto shakes up the status quo; it transforms what is to the things that are to come. Though Pluto is in the zodiac sign of tradition, Capricorn, it is when Pluto is Capricorn that traditional structures are shaken loose, and new structures are created. Knowing that Pluto is challenging Saturn, we can see that old structures, old regimes, old ways of thinking about relationships, measuring value and worth are being transformed. It may very well be that with traditionally male industries being downsized, that men, at least the ones living today, will never recover the wage earning ability that measured their place in society and their attractiveness as mates. They are going to need new currency if they want a relationship. And that currency may well be the traditional feminine one of being a caretaker in the relationship.

So this Saturn in Libra is the flip side of the one in Eighties. Now we are still seeking a relationship of equals, but the equality is not one of economic power but a balance of caretaking roles within the relationship.

Aries and Libra—You both worry way too much about who is in charge of the relationship. Though you feel the need to take the lead role, the true test is letting your partner have an equal say.

Taurus and Scorpio—Spend some time in serious contemplation of what it is you want to achieve. Nighttime dreams are a key to your desires.

Gemini and Sagittarius—You are both incorrigible flirts and we love you for it. Mars in Leo supports even your most outrageous adventures.

Cancer and Capricorn—Look to past success stories to get a key to your future. What you’ve done before with a slight out of the box twist will work again even if you worry the lightning can’t strike twice.

Leo and Aquarius—With Mars fueling your activities, you are overreaching a bit. Stretching your muscles is not a bad thing, but stretching the truth is. Look at things a little more realistically.

Virgo and Pisces—Be careful in motion and don’t overdo. You are feeling an abundance of energy, but unfortunately, misdirected could make you a bit clumsy. Label yourself, “handle with care”.

Weekly Astrology Forecast: The Fated Nature of Our Desires

desire1Week of February 19 to February 25

Our forecast week started Friday with an uncommon configuration of stars in the sky, a 5-pointed star.

Throughout the ages the 5-pointed star has been a symbol rich in meaning, signifying the course of Venus through the heavens. Venus as it dances around the sun in its forward motions, stations and retrograde periods appears to trace a 5 pointed star in the sky, something the ancients were well of.

Venus in early cultures was considered planet of war. The ancient Sumerians considered her thus and so did the Maya. For us Venus is the goddess of love and inspiration.

The symbol in the sky on Friday, made up as it is by two yods, and a trine shows us the fated nature of our desires. The planets involved are Saturn in Libra, speaking about commitment to our relationships, Mars in Leo, ardent passion, Moon in Taurus, material security, Sun in Pisces, romance, and Pluto in Capricorn, changing the structure of the status quo. This may be our real Valentine’s Day, when we can manifest the passion and romance we desire!

Aries—Things get serious for you, Ram, as you realize that love isn’t all kisses and cuddling. Someone may ask you for a commitment. Are you up for challenge?

Taurus—Your relationships only go off balance when you try to force your hand. Step back and take a more cooperative approach.

Gemini—Destiny takes a hand and leads you to that place you try so hard to avoid. Yes, Gemini, even though it seems like you can’t decide, the Universe has decided for you.

Cancer—It is likely you are feeling overburdened by the demands of your relationships with others. You are restless and yearn for a get-away. Plan some short day trips to relieve your stress.

Leo—No one is more passionate in love than the Lion, but this time you may have bitten off more than even you can chew. Use birth control.

Virgo—Others say yes, yes; you say no, no. If you refuse to drop your obsession with perfection you’ll miss out on some of the hottest nights of this cold winter. Live a little.

Libra—Things are changing in your world, Libra, and you may find that you have to give-up something to get something better. Maybe giving up a little freedom is worth it to share your heart with someone who cares.

Scorpio—Bam! What just hit you? Something that was staring you in the face the whole time! Go get him or her. They’ve been waiting for you.

Sagittarius—Oh geez! Can it be wedding bells in Sag’s future? Considering all that your partner has been through just to be with you, it might be the least you can do.
Capricorn—What or who are you running from, Capricorn? Is discretion the better part of valor? He or she who loves but refuses to lose by avoiding the whole game finds himself or herself without anyone to play games with.

Aquarius—Mixed messages scramble your brain. Does your intended want you or not? Reach out to your sense of inner knowing rather than depending on the words of another for accurate information.

Pisces—The frenetic pace of your life kicks up a notch. New people and new opportunities come in at the right time. Don’t listen to naysayers.

Weekly Astrology Forecast: We Don’t Always Get What We Want, Part 2

searchingAries—Hanging on to old relationships of any type is going to hinder rather than help you. If you have a hankering to dial up your ex after a night of soul searching via the help of the local pub, think twice about it, if you can. Unfortunately learning that the grass was greener on the pasture you just left is a part of life.

Taurus–Many planets in the sign of Aquarius means for the security conscious bull that there are likely to be a few surprises in store for you. Fortunately lucky Jupiter in friendly aspect to your Sun means that these surprises are great opportunities in disguise. Loosen up and explore the possibilities.

Gemini—The free thinking energies of four planets in Aquarius are your cup of tea, inspiring you to strike out on new adventures. Don’t forget the loved ones at home or the baby in the car seat. There are some things you do need to take care of.

Cancer—The weekend has you nesting at home, but soon you are forced to peek out on the wide world. As much as you’d like to hide out in your cave, you must pay attention to two areas of your life, your work and responsibilities and your romantic relationships. Time to stop hibernating.

Leo—You will see a change in your finances and unfortunately not in the way you expect. Now is not the time to spend money or make risky investments. Your best investment this week is planning a hot Valentine’s surprise for your sweetie.

Virgo—Usually steady and reliable, you find things are slipping out of your control. Jupiter, king of the gods, is opposite your Sun sign, demanding that you pay attention to developing a deeper sense of responsibility to the wider community. It is not enough to recycle those cans and bottles; you have to recycle your attitude as well.

Libra—Sprightly Libra hardly knows what it means to do the heavy lifting in relationships. The idea that a relationship requires work is a foreign one to you. However, with Saturn sitting in your sign and with a challenge coming from the planet of transformation you are beginning to learn the meaning of the phrase “turnabout is fair play.” Secretly your friends think you are getting what you deserve, so don’t count on much sympathy.

Scorpio—You have such a strong need to kick ass right now I worry about you Scorp. Carry a big stick if you must, but use it only in extreme emergencies. Find the nearest Chocolatier and load up on that medicinal chocolate.

Sagittarius—Though the spotlight is off you, and you feel the chill of the Universe not paying attention to you this week, don’t fret. Think of this as a breather before the next rounds of tasks required of you.

Capricorn—No one is better at crafting a strategy than you, Capricorn, and you spend this week plotting your next move. The glitter of Jupiter in the friendly sign of Pisces lends a type of magical sparkle to your desires. Remember that all that glitters is not gold.

Aquarius—A secret desire wrecks your head and your sleep. Though things seem slow in manifesting don’t worry. You’ll get to know the meaning of the phrase “be careful of what you wish for” soon enough.

Pisces—Destiny seems to play a hand as a new relationship steps into your life. Now, I’m not saying that this is the love of your life. Maybe it’s a new BBF, or a co-worker with a great network of new people to meet. However, whoever it is will have a significant and welcome impact on your life.

Weekly Astrology Forecast: Squirrels in the Trees

squirrel2Venus, the bright shining lady of our evening and morning star has left intense and sexually charged Scorpio, after stirring up a heap of trouble in connection with the planet of our sexual drive Mars. Now she wraps herself in the sign of lofty ideals. Sagittarius. Usually when Sagittarius is on quest to find “true love” they tend to sample the whole Baskin Robbins of the flavors of love hardly lighting in one place long enough to explore what it is they are seeking. This is always the danger with Venus in Sagittarius, the tendency to treat others as chicklets rather than as people.

Adding fuel to the fire is the planet of our sexual drive Mars, in the attention seeking sign of Leo. Leo has a need for followers, so if we are on the hunt for love, we will look back to see who is chasing us and take delight in that.

Fortunately, Saturn in the zodiac sign signifying relationships, places a steady hand on love fraught Venus. Things won’t go as fast as we like and we just might end up in an enduring relationship in spite of ourselves. But before we get to that place we’ll be like squirrels playing a game of tag in the trees, running furiously, and just enjoying the game as its played.

Aries—The mad rash of activity at holiday time leaves you breathless yet exhilarated. Money flows as you meet the challenge.

Taurus—Avoid rushing and trying to do too much. Though you feel there is a lot to do, you won’t get anything accomplished if you wear yourself out.

Gemini—Swift footed Gemini can usually roll with the punches, but even you have a hard time managing this week’s frenetic pace. Keep plan B and C in your pocket to handle contingencies.

Cancer—You’ll be asked to lend a helping hand as a friend goes through some tough times managing an unexpected event. While you love your friend, you do not love the circumstance. This is too much like what has happened in the past.

Leo—You either stare straight into or crash into the unexpected. You find yourself at odds with the strangest people, and yet find your friends curiously supporting them, not you. Bummer.

Virgo—Your partner’s extravagant spending habits come as a shock and a surprise. What can you do to regain your footing? Stand down, and think things over. A fight is not going to help matters.

Libra—Someone gives you what for and tells you what to do! Though Libra just wants to get along there are just some things you just won’t tolerate. You deal with a little mall therapy.

Scorpio—The Scorpion loves nothing better than to fade into the background, which you do with alarming skills this week. Come out; come out, where ever you are.

Sagittarius—You remind me of the Beach Boys’ song, “And she’ll have fun, fun, fun, ‘til (and when) her daddy takes her T-Bird away. Nothings stops Sag from a good time.

Capricorn—Partnership issues grow sticky when someone wants more of a commitment than you are willing to give. Is it is possible that you sent out the wrong signals?

Aquarius—Sudden and unexpected news in the romance front proves to be at once a day brightener and another appointment in your overscheduled life. You need to decide what you are going to cut back.

Pisces—Other people want you to do things you don’t want to. Truth is you are exhausted enough already and need some alone time. Take some.
