(Astrology Explored Blog) The nail biter of the 2020 United States election leaves everyone, Democrats and Republicans on edge as Trump does Trump, and the rest of us lose sleep. The stakes are no less than the soul of the nation. Will we move forward in the 21st century to carve a more progressive path or slip backward into isolationism, xenophobia, and a ‘us vs. them’ mentality? But it’s not just America, but the rest of the world who holds its collective breath. Our friends and allies in other nations wonder if America will reclaim its status as a trusted world leader.

In honor of #Sagittarius season: 4 planets in the 9th house?

Note: I wrote this answer on Quora and then said, hey, let’s put this on the blog too.

Astrologer's MailboxWhat does it mean if I have 4 planets in the 9th house: Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars?

I cannot give you a complete answer because I do not have your chart (and please don’t put it up or give me birth info, because I don’t read individual charts on Quora.)

The ninth house rules publishing, teaching, law, and travel. The zodiac sign that rules the 9th house is Sagittarius. Even if your sun is not in Sagittarius, you’ll share many of the attitudes and traits of a Sagittarian individual. You may be gregarious and the life of the party. You may impress many people for no damn reason at all, and know too much for your own good. Endlessly optimistic, you’ve lost more than one lover because of your fearless cheeriness in the morning. Don’t worry. There is always another.

Publishing, teaching, law and/or travel play a prominent role in your life. You may find you end up in more legal troubles than the average person, again for no damn reason other than the Universe seems to have it out for you, or it just wants to test your ability to act as your own lawyer. Remember what they say about who is a fool in this instance.

You’ll be a teacher one way or another. Either you are a teacher, teach some sort of class somewhere or coach kids. You love kids, someone else’s that is. But if and or when you have them you’ll spoil them rotten, much to the consternation of the other parent.

Secretly you dream about being a great writer. However, writing is hard work, so unless you have some grounding elements in your chart, you’d rather have someone else write it. You are the person who walks up to a writer at a party and says, “I have a great idea for a book. Why don’t you write it and we’ll split the profits?” This is why writers drink so often and have lawyers on speed dial.

You love the idea of travel but you may be a poor traveler. However, that doesn’t stop you from dreaming of exotic climes. You love all kinds of maps, even that funky one drawn by J.R.R. Tolkien’s son, Christopher, from Lord of the Rings. You even know that’s who drew the map. Secretly you want to be an elf.

When the Temptations sang “Papa is a rolling stone,” they were talking about you. Hey, at least you’ll gather no moss.

Disclosure: I have two planets in the 9th house, which gives me license to poke fun at people with a prominent ninth house. 🙂

Full Moon #Eclipse: Boogie Woogie Or Don’t Dance At All

Lunar Eclipse(Astrology Explored) Monday’s partial lunar eclipse (August 7, 2017 at 2:10 PM EDT) is the bookend of the February 10, 2017 Full Moon Eclipse. The Sun/Moon position is reversed. The February moon in Leo talked about our public images. This full moon, with the moon in the sign of the individual, Aquarius. The question will be: how will you fulfill your inner longing for personal fulfillment?

Do you boogie woogie to your own drummer? Or are you deaf to the callings of your soul? Are you authentic? Are you real? Are you expressing your true self? If you aren’t the Universe won’t want to dance with you.

Aquarius, as a zodiac sign, talks about finding your unique and honest self and gifting that to the world. Where house the eclipse falls will call you to develop your talents in that area and gift it to the world.

In a real way, this process started back in February where you examined your public image in relation to others. Now you will reconcile your inner self to your public image.
Up to the point that Aquarius’ modern ruler, Uranus, was discovered in 1781, people did not have access to a planet to help excavate their individuality. Self-actualization wasn’t a mass concept as most people struggled to survive whatever way they could. People lived within the strict dictates of government and church. But within a shy five years of the Uranus’ discovery people were talking about the rights of the people to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” These were radical thoughts for a revolutionary time. The Astrology of Breakdowns and Breakthroughs: Step Away From That Saturn

White Rabbit(Astrology Explored) That powerful sucking you are feeling right now is a Moon-Saturn occultation in Scorpio. Fear not, it will pass.—Matthew Currie, FB Post

You felt it too. There was a little twisting in your gut. Something didn’t feel quite right. Is Pisces or Cancer a significant influence in your chart? You turned on the water works. If a white rabbit drove up in a car and told you to get in, you just might do it.

You entered the Saturn in Scorpio zone.

To be fair, it was a little more potent than usual. The Sun entered Pisces and perturbed Neptune and Chiron who are taking up residence there. Additionally, Jupiter, the planet of expansion, is trine Sun, Neptune, and Chiron! The Moon in Scorpio kicked it off, but we’ll feel the residual effects until the Sun moves off Neptune and Chiron. The Astrology of Death: James Gandolfini passes in Italy

James Gandolfini

James Gandolfini

(Astrology Explored) Just as he was enjoying a trip to Italy with his teenage son, and days before he was to receive and award at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily, beloved American actor James Gandolfini died suddenly and unexpectedly of a suspected heart attack on June 19, 2013 in Rome, Italy. He was a relatively young 51 years of age.

Astrologers don’t like to talk about death. For one thing, people who don’t know much about astrologers often assume that is the first thing we will predict about them. The second is that is it considered unethical to predict someone’s death. The last thing we want to do is alarm our clients. No doubt even this post will upset some.

Actually, predicting death is not as easy. We may not have a fixed point of death in our chart, but many checkout points were the soul can out to move on. In my own personal experience, when transiting Uranus opposed my natal Uranus I developed a tear in my aortic valve which luckily was diagnosed and treated before I keeled over dead. Other people, such as John Ritter were not so lucky. Deaths do seem to cluster around the major transits, the Uranian opposition around 42 to 44, either of the two Saturn Returns at age 29 or 58, the Chiron return in the early 50’s, and the Pluto square at around age 82 to 84. New Moon in Pisces: Under the Influence

Fairy New Moon (Astrology Explored) With the new moon joining the huge alignment of planets in Pisces the floodgates are about to open. Rarely do we see this many planets in the same sign. Like someone arriving at the theater late, this moon will trip her way through the seats to take her place next to the Sun, stepping on the toes of the other planets. Then she’ll exit stage right until she arrives in the zodiac sign of Aries, a first harbinger of the new spring. There are so many symbols in this configuration; one hardly knows where to start.

Neptune, Chiron, Mercury, Venus, Sun, and Mars tenants the zodiac sign of Pisces. Many people have a difficult time understanding Pisces energy. To be honest, people with a significant Pisces signature in their chart don’t understand Pisces. Some people rail at the Pisces propensity to stay above it all. Truth is Pisces does not engage with the world in a way that other people consider normal. Pisces cries at weddings, laughs at funerals, and dances away from the motor vehicle accidents that they cause by not paying attention to the road. Much of Pisces life has a “do not try this at home” element to it. This sign is all about merging with the river of life, which they do without benefit of a life jacket. “Fuck ‘em if they can’t take a joke,” is the favorite saying of one friend with a huge stellium of Pisces planets in his chart. The Astrology of Hurricane Issac

Predicted Path of Issac as of 8/31/2012

Predicted Path of Issac as of 8/31/2012

(Astrology Explored) Seven years after Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Isaac revisited the miseries of extreme weather on Mississippi. While the new levees of New Orléans held, residents in Plaquemines Parish weren’t so lucky as a gulf side levee broke filling the area between levees with fourteen feet of water.

It pummeled the Mississippi Coast with relentless roundhouse jabs, while pinning southern Louisiana under a saturating rainfall. On its crawl up from the coast, Isaac dumped more than a foot of rain in some places and shoved before it a violent storm surge that would soon bring back the terrible old images of 2005 . . .

Now downgraded to a tropical depression the path of Issac has turned north and east. It The storm is projected to eventually peter out over the heavily populated Ohio Valley and the western areas of Virginia and North Carolina.

Astrologically, hurricanes are ruled by Uranus, rain by the Moon and Neptune. All three planets are represented prominently in the charts of Hurricane Issac.

The first chart we look at (below) is the date of landfall in the United States using the capital of the United States, Washington D.C. as a reference to represent the entire nation. Here Pisces is the zodiac sign on the on the ascendant, with its ruler, Neptune within 7 degrees of it. Chiron. the planet of wounds, sits on top of the ascendant. This is a rain destined to do damage.

In opposition to the Neptune/Chiron combination is the Sun in Virgo loosely conjunct to Mercury in Leo.

Astro*Carto*Graphy maps reveals some fascinating synchronicities. Using the capital of the United States for our first chart of the U.S. landfall day, we see that the Uranus line crosses the Lesser Antilles.

The path of storm continued from there crossing the lines of the Sun, Chiron, Neptune and finally Mercury, where Issac made landfall.

Switching to the natal chart for landfall, using the actual location of landfall, Aquarius, ruled by the planet of hurricanes, Uranus is on the ascendant. The moon is also in the sign of Aquarius. This when Isaac turned from a tropical depression to a hurricane.

Now Issac turns its path to cross those Sun, Chiron and Neptune lines again.

Astrology and the Earth Grand Trine: Nuclear Powered You

nuclear core(Astrology Explored) My sister asked me what her chart says about what she should be doing. My response was immediate. “What can’t you do? You’ve got Pluto and Mars supporting your Sun. You can do anything you want!”

Tied together by the harmonious energetic connection of a trine, the Sun, Mars and Pluto provide a powerful engine for progress for the next seven days especially for earth and water signs. Or you can space out and let life wash over you like a lovely dream. Your choice.

For those that don’t know, three planets tied together by trines is called a Grand Trine. Grand Trines happens in the same element, fire, air, earth or water. This time we have an earthy Grand Trine, so we tend to focus, especially if you have planets in the earth element, on those aspects of life that provide stability and comfort to our earth bodies.
