The Astrology of Eclipses: Where Are Your Secrets?

Solar Eclipse(Astrology Explored) Tomorrow’s new moon eclipse will be in the zodiac sign of Scorpio. As we’ve seen with General Petraeus, there is a Pandora’s box of secrets and abuses of power waiting to get released. How is this going to affect you? The fly in the ointment is Uranus, the planet of the unexpected making a stress aspect (inconjunct) the Sun/Moon combinations threatening to blow up even the most well managed of situations.

Where the eclipse falls in your chart is the area in your life that will be sensitized for the next six months. Look in your chart to see where this eclipse is going to concentrate its energies.

If you don’t know your chart, then maybe its time to have a chat with your local astrologer.

Scorpio in the first, Uranus in the sixth house—While work is lucky for you right now, overdoing the late nights at the office bring on a round of sudden stress related illnesses. If you must work around the clock, at least eat healthy and get enough sleep. Continue reading

Weekly Astrology Forecast: Nov 9 through Nov 15– Sharing and Caring

Weekly Forecast(Astrology Explored) Astrology for the week of November 9 to November 15

This the final week before the next Solar Eclipse, a kind of a wrap up of the previous six months. The moon moves from Virgo, to Libra, to Scorpio through this week, touching on material concerns, relationships and money, and other people’s resources. It is this week where we find ourselves depending on others instead of our individual selves, when we recognize that we are stronger as part of group than as a lone wolf. Venus in the relationship sign of Libra, urges you, if you feel you walk alone, to immerse yourself in activities that involving the sharing of yourself. Helping others will benefit in more ways than you know. Even before the holidays begin this is the time for sharing and caring.

Aries—The planet of individuality, Uranus, has recently moved into your sign. Have you noticed that your life is more erratic of late, that things keep cropping up that place more obstacles in your life? Aries is never afraid of a challenge, but this is a horse of different color. The problem is that you are unable or unwilling to recognize that your sense of independence runs counter to what is expected of you. Continue reading

The Astrology of Disaster: Springfield, MA’s Deadly Tornado

June 01, 2011 Tornado, Springfield, MA

(Astrology Explored)

On the very day of a solar eclipse, in the southend and downtown of densely populated Springfield, MA, a tornado formed and tore through this New England city, leaving four dead. The tornado was latter described as an EF4 storm which typically has winds of 166 to 200 miles per hour. Only an EF5 storm is stronger.

Though tornado warnings has been in effect for most of the day, and despite the occasional small tornados that do form from time to time, no one expected a tornado of this force or magnitude. Continue reading

The Astrology of Solar Eclipses: Spring Cleaning for the Soul

partial-solarCutting through Central Africa, swiping the tale end of India and sweeping through China, last Friday’s Annular Solar Eclipse happened at 25°01′ of Capricorn.

“A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partially obscuring Earth’s view of the Sun. An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon’s apparent diameter is smaller than the Sun, causing the sun to look like an annulus (ring), blocking most of the Sun’s light. An annular eclipse will appear as partial eclipse over a region thousands of miles wide.”

A New Start

Solar eclipses always happen in conjunction with the New Moon, adding the power of the Sun to the cycle of the Moon, signaling a time of new beginnings. The two-week period before the next full moon is an especially sensitive time to set the stage for the next six months.

The area of 25 degrees 01 seconds of Capricorn is an area that is due for a major change in your life. Occurring as the planet of communications Mercury turns direct, there is an unleashing of new information, a revision of past actions, and a chance at a fresh start. Should you have a personal planet or even a midpoint between two planets in that area within a degree or two, this is place that will act as if a lens has been placed on it, focusing your attention on the issues of that planet.

In the Celtic perspective because this eclipse occurs roughly halfway between winter and spring solstices this eclipse signals a time when we balance the old against the new. We do not necessarily throw the baby out with the bath water, but we should be aware that growth means changing your perspective and ultimately your method of solving your problems.

Saturn Speaks

Whatever house has the degree of 25 degrees of Capricorn, whether or not you have a planet there, will kick up in importance. Because we are talking about Capricorn, which is ruled by Saturn, your Saturn issues about self worth in this house may take on an added emphasis for the next half year.

Old issues if not resolved on previous cycles may reappear. Bills that have been stashed in a drawer, old lovers you are quite done with, legal issues that you thought were finished all show up on your door step to point out what limitations you’ve ignored. Think of this as Spring cleaning for the soul.

Limitations and roadblocks to our success are often self-imposed. Saturn always means to instruct us, but he will not do so by handing us the answers. We must thrash through the questions ourselves. We might realize that what our parents or other authority figures told us was not true and we do not need to be bound by their assessment. We might find out that our own view of self is faulty and is in serious need of revision. We may just discover that our fears are just shadows and wisps in the wind. This is the hope and promise of this Solar Eclipse, that we find what is holding us back from taking the action that will move our dreams forward.
