The Astrology of National Elections: Obama, Romney and Void of Course Moon

(Astrology Explored)

Some astrologers are predicting a Romney victory in today’s election by virtue of the fact that he was officially nominated when the moon was not Void of Course (VOC) while Obama’s nomination came during a VOC moon.

A Moon Void of Course refers is a moon that makes no further aspects to any other planet before is changes sign. It signifies that nothing will come of the matter Continue reading

Celebrity Astrology: Kim Kardashian’s Happily Ever After

After just 72 days into her “fairytale wedding”, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce October 31, 2011 from basketball star Kris Humphries, citing irreconcilable differences. On December 1, 2011 Kris Humphries responded with a petition for annulment of the marriage based on fraud.

Sources very close to Kris Humphries tell TMZ … Kris is gunning for an annulment based on fraud because he feels “he was just slotted in the plot line of Kim Kardashian’s latest headline and newest business venture.”

We’re told Kris believes Kim never intended to stay married to him, but needed a groom to fuel ratings for her show. One source says, “Once they were finished taping, she just didn’t need a groom anymore.”

Sunday’s Cardinal Grand Cross: Cha, Cha, Cha, Changes

April 10. 2011 Grand CrossIn a Facebook group to which I belong someone asked this question of the group.

Rumor has it the Moon in Cancer becomes part of a Grand Cross in the cardinal signs as the Moon squares Mars in Aries (1:53AM PDT), opposes Pluto in Capricorn (4:02AM PDT), squares Saturn in Libra (2:46PM PDT), and also squares Jupiter in Aries (10:27PM PDT).

Makes me dizzy. How do retrogrades affect these things?

This is such an excellent question that I thought it would be good to pen a few observations.

Retrograde is a do over. “Look,” the planet says, “You didn’t pay attention to me the first time, you are going to pay attention to me now!” Like with Saturn, it will hit a sensitive point in your chart, move forward, and move back three times before it moves on. My astrology teacher said, first time is like a tap, the second time its like a smack, and the third is ‘Whap! Upside the head!”

Political Astrology: We Interrupt Our Regularly Scheduled Post

Obama Hope Picture(Astrology Explored) We interrupt our regularly scheduled posts on ancient Christmas traditions to bring you speculations on the U.S Political scene and President Barack Obama.

President Obama’s grand slam victory at getting key points of his agenda passed in the final session of a lame duck Congress startled Republicans and delighted Democrats. Indeed the repeal of “Don’t ask, don’t tell” is a turning point in our policies toward our military, freeing our fighting forces of the onus of figuring out whether or not it is OK to let people with alternate sexual orientations die for their country. This lightning rod issue has bedeviled the U. S. Congress and Senate before and since its inception in 1993 as an imperfect solution to a dilemma straddling morality and political correctness. So this resolution to an imperfect solution was a surprise to say the least.

This along with other small victories, getting the government funded for the next three months, authorization of additional months of assistance for the unemployed, extending tax “cuts” for all of us, a food safety bill strengthening federal power to inspect food processing plants; a deal to confirm about 20 of President Obama’s judicial nominations to the federal bench; and ratification of the New START treaty with Russia, is an impressive list of legislative achievements.

And the amazing thing is that all these things were done during Mercury Retrograde.

Now any astrologer worth his or her salt will tell you that any or all of these bills shouldn’t have passed and may be reversed, reworked or repealed. But, but, but, seeing that Obama rallied the legislative troops in the eleventh hour, seeing that Obama made his announcement to run for the presidency while the moon was void of course, that he was sworn into office on Mercury Retrograde, well it just makes an astrologer scratch her head and say, “My stars!”

There is only one group of people for who Mercury in Retrogrades works favorably, those who were born during a Mercury in Retrograde period. And Obama, according to his Hawaii birth date, was not.

This just only works into certain conspiracy theories that Obama’s stated birth date, place and time is not his real one. This wouldn’t be so unusual. For years, Ronald Reagan kept all his real birth data secret from all but his family and his astrologers. But I’m sure I’m not the only astrologer wondering if the data we were given is correct. The astrology says the passage of these bills shouldn’t have happened, but it did anyway under Obama’s leadership. First, last and always I believe the astrology, so something else astrologically has to be going on.

What do you think? Because I don’t have an answer to this one.

Mercury Rx: Your Concerns For the Next Three Weeks

Mercury Retrograde Pictures, Images and PhotosMercury stopped in its tracks last Sunday at 12 degrees of Taurus, and will move back to 2 degrees of Taurus before he turns direct. This area is activated for the next month, until May 11, when we get think about what we haven’t achieved and figure out what we are going to do about it. Take a look at were Mercury is traversing your chart and what it hits. If you don’t have a copy of your chart, go to, pick “free chart selection” and enter your birth data to get a copy of your chart.

Mercury transiting the first house—This is an image conscious transit, and due to influence of Taurus you are going to think about that diet, haircut or shopping trip that will serve to do improve your view of yourself. Often, under this transit, you’ll make decisions that you live to regret so while hair will grow back, trimming back that credit card bill for the new wardrobe will be a little tougher. Pass.

Mercury transiting the second house—Lucky you. You’ve always had a good sense of values when it comes to money so don’t blow it now. Use that famous Taurus sense of patience to hold back on any schemes that loosens any money from your coin purse. And if the question is whether you should or not, well, that is what you get to ponder for the next month.

Mercury transiting the third house—Mercury in the natural zodiac rules the third house, which has to do with communications, siblings and small monetary transactions, trade schools and organizations and curiously, thieves. Maybe you are waiting to hear from a brother or a sister, or receive that acceptance letter to a school, or if your lover will finally tell you what is bothering him or her. Now is not the time to expect a resolution and you’ll only make yourself crazy if you do.

Mercury transiting the fourth house—If you are looking to buy or sell a house, wait. Nothing will materialize until after May 11th. If you are a seller you might be showing houses, if the house is in escrow, there many be extra demands to seal the deal. If you are buying there will be a reason for the deal to slow to a crawl. Patience. It will all work out.
Oh yes, call your parents. They are waiting to hear from you.

Mercury transiting the fifth house—We are talking about your love life here, which for you takes some time to materialize anyway, but now things are impossibly slow. Maybe the object of your affections is just plain thick headed in getting the message you are interested, or maybe you have some impediment of your own, like your last fling that seems to keep hanging on, before you can move things along. Maybe this is the time to think about what you really want in a relationship. Now THERE’S a topic for introspection.

Mercury in the sixth house—People that you employ will suddenly become unreliable right now. Maybe your babysitter will disappear for a few days and not have a good reason upon her return. Or your gardener flakes out while the starter plants languish waiting to be planted. There is a whole host of scenarios that could play out, so whoever you rely on, have a back-up plan to replace their services on the turn of dime. It will all give you a headache, but its just stress, not something more serious.

Mercury in the Seventh—Partnerships of all forms seem to stall right now, leaving you holding the bag with things that need to be done. If you are planning a wedding, there are all sorts of problems that will sort themselves out after the 11th, so if you can wait before you try to fix things, do yourself a favor. If you partner seems reticent about discussing issues maybe you should let sleeping dogs lie. It’s all terribly frustrating, but maybe the lesson is to learn to have a little faith in the Universe. Be a human being, instead of a human doing.

Mercury in the Eighth House—Issues involving taxes, insurance, the resources of others and goods of the dead hit a brick wall this month. Nothing moves along like it should. If you are waiting for a check it may be delayed. If you are trying to work with others, (like lawyers) on these issues, things move at an impossibly slow pace. It doesn’t do any good to rail against the system. This is usually a signal that there is some important detail that is being missed, so spend your time figuring that out rather than slamming the phone in some poor clerk’s ear.

Mercury in the Ninth House—Scholarly or legal pursuits hit snags. Maybe you put off those papers much too long and they are due NOW. Maybe your carefully prepared thesis can’t get out of the printer’s shop. Or a long planned trip suddenly has a raft of problems crop up. Whatever is going on there, this is a chance to retrace your steps and do things better, so make some lemonade out of those lemons.

Mercury in the Tenth House—You are forced to revisit career issues that you thought you put past you. Maybe career recognition, that promotion or raise, is delayed. Maybe the new job that you though you grabbed suddenly disappears. Suddenly people you thought were your allies aren’t taking your calls. You are on your own. It blows, I know, but patience is a virtue, and with your Taurus energy here, you have a sense that the timing isn’t quite right, so trust that feeling.

Mercury in the Eleventh House—If Mercury transits here, you find yourself stuck in the problems of your friends and associates, and somehow everyone expects you to straighten out their problems. There is no need for you to act like an energizer bunny, or lend out your last time to bail out people that are too lazy to work out their own problems. If you are part of a large organization you may have a sense that something big is about to happen, though not just yet. If you think you may have to jump, make your exit plan now.

Mercury in the Twelfth House—Of all the Mercury transit positions this may be the most disturbing. This is due to the very weird dreams that disturb your sleep and keep you off balance for the rest of the day. You aren’t imagining the effects. These dreams are powerful indicators of the issues you are sorting through right now. Pay attention but don’t be unduly alarmed, because the information you receive from beyond the veil is not exactly literal interpretations of the events that are to come.

Adventures of Mercury in Retrograde

Mercury Retrograde

Mercury Retrograde

Mercury appears in it orbit to going backwards in is orbit, an optical illusion created by Earth shooting temporarily past Mercury’s position. This condition lasts about three weeks, until Mercury can claim a post position next to the Sun. During this time, when Mercury is all wonky in its orbit we are warned that all sorts of things happen in regards to communications, transportation delays and problems with agreements.

There are scofflaws, of course, people who think that this all bunk. They will say there is no more of these types of occurrences during the Mercury in Retrograde period than any other time.

They should get acquainted with my automobile dealership.

Now I won’t name names, because that would only lead to trouble and I’m enough trouble as it is.

On the fourth of this month, on the eve of Mercury turning backwards in its orbit, my car suddenly stopped in the parking lot as I was on my home from work. It made a terrible noise and it wasn’t going anywhere. The upshot was that the ball joint snapped, and the front passenger tire hung impotently from whatever support was left. I was a lucky woman, because had this happened on the highway, things would be much worse.

After an unusual amount of back and forth, and two different tow trucks, I am hauled back to my town twenty-six miles by the good folks of AAA. What to do now? Go to the dealership. Nope, someone I knew had a good friend that could fix it, no problem. I am a lucky woman indeed.

Yeah, except after I bought a new ball joint, we found out that on my car, the ball joint was part of an arm assembly that was a factory sealed piece. “Enough”, I said, to the dealership we go.

Except they couldn’t get the car done on the date agreed (I am renting a car in the meantime). For this they said, we’ll fix your window, (which sadly went down one day and didn’t go back up again) Ms. Turnage no problem, we’ll make you a deal. Except the bill was double what was agreed, and the window still wasn’t fixed. And on the bill are written these words “Front end still has issues.” What? Does my front-end need psychotherapy to straighten it out? With the cost and the uncertainty of the repairs, I am feeling not so lucky. I speak with the General Manager, who I could tell was going to have a few words with the Service Manager in the morning. But don’t worry, Ms. Turnage, we’ll give you a call in the morning and let you know about the car. And I did get a call. They lost my car keys.

Only when Mercury is in retrograde motion . .
